Education the way it should be

We Meet Each Child Where They Are

We expect to modify our instructional practices and provide accommodations for different learners. We do not 'teach to the middle', but intentionally design our instruction for the needs and interests of students in our class. Class size allows for this personalization and our class culture  intentionally supports the concept that everyone needs things a little differently and it's our job to help each child have what they need.

Learn about our curriculum

  • Pre-Kindergarten (Ages 3-5)

Our Pre K Curriculum is a thoughtful balance of play-based and academic experiences. Students are exposed to academic concepts in literacy and early mathematics in a fun and supportive environment and are invited to explore these concepts further through play. PreK students receive instruction in Music, Visual Arts, Drama, Library and Social/Emotional Learning from highly qualified specialists at least once per week.

  • Lower School (Grades K - 5/6)

Our Lower School Curriculum is aligned with Washington State and National Standards and Content Guidelines. Each student receives instruction in Science, Math, Language Arts (reading and writing), Social Studies, Science, Drama, Music, Visual Art, Library, Social/Emotional Learning, and Computer Skills. We emphasize strong reading, writing, and math skills along with whole child development too.

  • Upper School (Grades 6-12)

We have both a Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12) program. The Upper School curriculum is aligned with Washington State Grade Level Standards and Content Guidelines. Each student receives year-long instruction in Science, Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, The Arts, and American Sign Language. Computer Skills, Study Skills, Citizenship and Service Learning are incorporated into our regular day.
